Death
ALBEMARLE, Sept. 24. — George Franklin Furr, 76, died Friday morning about 3:10 at the home of his son, Claude Furr, Stanfield, Route 2. Mr. Furr, a retired farmer, was a native of Stanly county, the son of the late Lee Furr and Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Furr. He married Miss Anne Helms who survives. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at Clark's Grove Primitive Baptist church with Elder Jason Eudy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Claude Furr of Stanfield, Route 1, Rufus L. Furr of Hickory Grove, Clyde Furr of Stanfield; seven daughters, Mrs. Zeb Hunneycutt of Oakboro, Mrs. Sam Hunneycutt of Detroit, Mrs. Claude Brooks of Stanfield, Route 1; Miss Ila Furr of Concord, Mrs. Thomas Dry of Oakboro, Mrs. Lonnie Hunneycutt of Oakboro, Route 1, and Mrs. Pauline Helms and two brothers, Hamp Furr of Cabarrus county, and Luther Furr of Texas. L. M. Furr and A. B. Furr, of Charlotte, of the Observer mechanical department, are nephews of George Franklin Furr, the deceased.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, September 25, 1948
