Jonas Hampton Furr, 82, a widely known retired farmer of route 2, Stanfield, died Thursday at 4:30 a.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clyde Morgan, after a long period of declining health. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Furr of Stanly county and was married to the former Addie Lee, who preceded him in death. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Maude Green of Monroe, Mrs. John Plowman of Matthews, Mrs. Clyde Morgan of route 2 Stanfield, Mrs. Benny Green of Monroe, Mrs. Nina Williams and Mrs. Ruby Hopkins of Stanfield; four sons, Lum of Concord, Webb and Fred of Monroe, and Loomis of Stanfield; 49 grandchildren; and 51 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Clarkâs Grove Primitive Baptist church, in charge of Elder Jason Eudy.
