Death
Mrs. John Adam (Margaret Tealie) Plowman, age 81, of 549 Howey Bottom Road, Indian Trail, NC., died Thursday, June 13, 1985, in Presbyterian Hospital. Mrs. Plowman was born March 1, 1904 in Stanly County, NC., daughter of the late J. Hampton and Odie Lee Furr. Her husband, John Adam Plowman, preceded her in death in March of 1973. Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Saturday, June 15, 1985, in the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, of which she was a member, conducted by the Rev. Lawrence E. Funderburk and the Rev. Earl Sossoman. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Nathan Plowman and Rondel Plowman, both of Indian Trail, NC; three daughters, Mrs. Norman (Frances) Sustar, Mrs. John T. (Lillian) Phillips, both of Matthews, NC, and Mrs. Edward (Cornell) Outen of Indian Trail, NC; one son who preceded her in death, William (Bill) Plowman on November 13, 1982; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lumas Furr of Stanfield, NC and Lum Furr of Concord, NC; and four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Lee Hopkins, Mrs. Clyde (Emma) Morgan, both of Stanfield, NC, Mrs. Gert (Nina) Williams, and Mrs. Fred (Mayde) Green, both of Monroe, NC. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Eddie Outen, William Heath Plowman, Dale Phillips, Randy Sustar, Steve Plowman, and Scott Plowman. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Friday, June 14, 1985, at the McEwen Funeral Home in Mint Hill, NC.
