Death
J. A. Furr, father of Wade H. Furr of Borger, died yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock in a Wichita Falls hospital after a sudden illness. He was 84 years old.Funeral services for the elder Furr, a merchant for many years at Kirkland, were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the Methodist church in Kirkland with the arrangements in charge of the H.B. Smith mortuary in Quanah. Mr. Furr had visited in Borger a number of times and had many friends here. While not connected with the Furr Food stores, his son, C.W. Furr of Amarillo is president of the chain and Wade Furr manages the Borger branch. Besides the two mentioned sons, survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ray Dick of Amarillo, two other sons, Claude Furr of Plainview, C.N. Furr of McKinney and another daughter, Mrs. P.N. Fielder of Electra, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Furr and daughter, Juanita, and Miss Billye Faye Chandler, sister of Mrs. Furr, all of Borger, attended the last rites.Borger Daily Herald, Boger, Texas, March 2, 1936
