Death
Columbus Nelson Furr, 86, retired grocery merchant, passed away in Collin Memorial Hospital at 7:45 a. m. Thursday. He resided at 1206 Greenville Street. He had been in ill health for three months. He was born November 23, 1873 in North Carolina, the son of John and Martha Green Furr, and was married in 1894 to Sara E. Goodman. He came to Collin County 59 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Glen Keen, Mrs. Hugh Myers and Mrs. Dorothy Scarborough, all of McKinney: five sons: Grover, Bill and Jack Furr of McKinney; Titus Furr of Colorado and Zeb Furr of Three Rivers; five grandchildren, 13 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Dick of Kansas and a brother, Wade Furr of California. Funeral services were held in Turrentine-Jackson Chapel with burial in Pecan Grove Cemetery.Endnotes
