Death
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m, Thursday in Turrentine-Jackson Chapel in McKinney for Grover C. Furr, 72, McKinney automobile dealer, who died Wednesday morning in Wysong Hospital in that city. Rev. C. Mack Roark, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated and interment was in Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney. Pallbearers were Harold Miller, Charlie Barksdale, Sam Welch, A. W. Storrs, Elmer Volle and George Apple. Mr. Furr was born March 30, 1897, in North Carolina, the son of C.N. and Sarah E. Goodmann Furr. He had lived in McKinney most of his life, residing at 1214 Tucker Street at the time of his death. He was married June 17, 1917, to Iva Martin in Fort Worth. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of various automobile associations. Surviving are his wife of McKinney; two brothers, Zeb Furr of Three Rivers and Jack Furr of McKinney; and three sisters, Mrs. Glenn Keen, Mrs. Hugh Myers and Mrs. Dorothy Scarborough, all of McKinney.Endnotes
