Death
Funeral services for A. Jack Furr, 82, of McKinney, who died Sunday at North Texas Medical Center, were scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hom-Harris-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Randy Stevens and Jack Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. He was born Jan. 9, 1908 in McKinney, the son of C.N. and Sarah Elizabeth Goodman Furr. He married Ruby Recer on March 23, 1946 in Richardson. He retired from Furr Motor Co. in 1971 and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of McKinney. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife and three sisters, Dorothy Scarborough, Anne Myers .and Dora Keen, all of McKinney. Pallbearers will be Clifford Recer, Billie Ray Recer, Jackie McMahan, Jeff Booth, Gregg Booth and Andrew Sawyer.The Courier-Gazette, McKinney, Texas, October 16, 1990
