Ernest Eugene BRENIMAN

(21 Jun 1879 - 2 Nov 1960)

Ernest grew up in Poweshiek County and was baptized in the Moravian Church southeast of Brooklyn in what was then a community called Harmony, Ia. He served as director of the Farm Bureau and of the Brooklyn telephone Company. He was a farmer most of his life, owning land in Warren Township of Poweshiek County, Iowa.
Ernest had his leg amputated due to a blood clot.

Marriage

Notice in the paper...At 8 o'clock on the evening of 3 Feb 1904 occurred the marriage of Miss Frances Bernice Gaumer and Ernest Eugene Breniman at the home of the brides' parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.G. Gaumer of Fairfield, Iowa. The Rev. Corky officiating.
June 19th, 1949, at the Breniman home southeast of Brooklyn, many gathered to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary which had actually occured in February.

Marriage

WILLIAMS-BRENIMAN VOWS ARE REPEATED --- The marriage of Mrs. Jessie Williams of Hollywood, Calif., and Ernest Breniman of Brooklyn took place Sunday, Nov. 23, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Jones in South Pasadena, Calif. The Rev. Walter K. Holm officiated at the ceremony at 3:00 p.m. before a gathering of about twenty relatives and friends.
In the evening a buffet dinner was served. A decorated wedding cake served as the centerpiece at the serving table. Mrs. Breniman, the former Jessie Howe, and Mr. Breniman attended the same school in Lincoln No. 3 in their early teens. Mr. and Mrs. Breniman are at home on the Breniman farm.
