Barbara was six months old when her parents moved to Keokuk County, Iowa from Hardin Co., Ohio. Here she grew to womanhood. It was here that she met and married Gottlieb Breniman.
She became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at an early age and lived a devoted life in support of the church.
