A baptism record at St. Peter's Parish: Anne, daut of Nicho.Meriwether, Gent. bapt the 15 July 169?. Part of date missing. Others state it was 1694.

Anne was married to a Johnson. From her father's will she inherited 630 acres, land bought of Edward Hix, that was to go to her son William Johnson, also the plantation known as "Roundabout" - about 1300 acres.

Thomas Johnson died in 1734 in Hanover Co and Anne married John Cosby, who died by 1762.

Wit: Thomas Johnson, Ben Brown Junr, Tarlton Brown, Rowland Gooch. Justices had to go to Mary Estis's home to get her release for the above transaction.

For love and affection unto my son-in-law John Boswell and Ann Boswell my daughter and to the heirs of sd. Ann Boswell, slaves which they now have in their possession, Velot and her increase, Nan and her increase and her 4 children Adam, Tom, Billey and Daniel. If sd. Ann made her own will in Feb of 1780; sons Nicholas and Richard were already deceased. She named her daughter Ann Boswell, sons Thomas and William Johnson. Granddaughter Jane Wiley who had daughters Ann Meriwether Wiley and Martha Jones Wiley. Thomas and William to be Executors. Proved 9 May 1785.

Ann Cosby's Will. Lousia Co VA. 2 Feb 1780. To daughter Ann Boswell, prayer Book & Bible. To son Thos. Johnson, my Great Bible, my morning ring. To son William Johnson all the rest of my estate of any kind except what is given before. To granddaughter Jane Wily, the labor of Mulatto slave Milly, her daughter Pat & son Jesse, until her daughters, Ann Meriwether Wiley and Martha John Wiley are 18 provided the slaves are not misused. To be divided betwen my great granddaughters when Ann reaches 18. My two sons Thos. & William, my Executors. Signed: Ann Cosby
