Spotsylvania Co., Gent. 270Lbs. currt. money. 400 acres in fork of the South Anna patent to Nicholas Meriwether Gent, Dec'd. 18 Feb 1722 devised to his son, David Meriwether........
The Ancestral File gives the same date of death for David and both his parents which is obviously in error. David's will was probated in Louisa Co VA 22 Jan 1745. No copy of the will has been found.
Hening's Statutes, Feb 1752, David Crawford had made a deed to David Meriwether dated 12 May 1697. David Meriwether had died leaving his eldest son Thomas as his heir who was now docking the entail of 200 acres and moving to lands in Fredericksville Parish, Louisa Co. Thomas Meriwether sold the tract to Reuben Skelton. [As David Crawford made gifts of land to other grandsons, presumably this deed did refer to this David Meriwether.]
David & Ann are probably buried in the Meriwether family cemetery, Albemarle Co, VA.
