Death
Funeral services for Irvin Furr, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Z. Furr, of 1800 East Boulevard, were held at the home at 3 o'clock this afternoon. He died yesterday at a local hospital after being ill since July 4. Rev. J. W. Moore officiated at the services. Active pallbearers were S. W. Harkey, J. S. Massey, R. C. Shaw, R. Polk, B. H. Camp, and W. J. Barefoot. Honorary pallbearers were the following members of young Furr’s Sunday School Class, George Martin, Robert Nichols, John Cook, Frank Townsend Allen Outen, and William Sanders. Survivors are his parents, five brothers, B. Z. Jr., James M., Boyette, Carol, and Conrad Furr, and four sisters, Mrs. John Laughlin, Jr. Lake Lure, Mrs. H. L. Brown, Mrs. Jackson Hartsell and Miss Catherine Furr, all of Charlotte.The Charlotte News, Charlotte, North Carolina, July 17, 1931
