Mr. Boyette Edward Furr, 85, of Charlotte, N.C. died Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at his home. He was born May 14, 1915 in Charlotte, N.C., a son of the late Beachum Zerobia Furr and Carrie Black Furr. Mr. Furr was the husband of the late Virginia "Jennie" Covington Furr, who preceded him in death on August 30, 1994. He was a World War II, U.S. Army veteran and was associated with Furr's Feed and Seed Company for many years. One of the joys in his life was gardening. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2001 from the graveside at Sharon Memorial Park with The Reverend William J. Youmans, of Amity Presbyterian Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Harry and Bryant Chapel, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Thursday. Surviving are a daughter, Jennie Lynn Lackey; a son, David B. Furr, and a granddaughter, Laura Lackey, all of Charlotte, N.C.; and two brothers, Conrad Furr, of Lake Wylie, S.C. and Carroll Furr, of Charlotte, N.C. The family would especially like to thank Hospice nurse, Elizabeth Schneider, for all of her caring, support, and friendship. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 500 East Morehead Street, Charlotte, N.C. 28202 or Presbyterian Homecare Hospice, 217 Travis Avenue, Charlotte, N.C. 28204.
