NELS C. PEDERSON
Nels Pederson, age 77, Minneapolis, MN, died Wednesday, March 7th 1990, at his home. Memorial services were held Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Funeral services were held Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks, with Pastors John Trom and Thomas Boe officiating. Pastor Caroll Satre delivered the funeral sermon. The organist for the service was Julie Midtaune and soloist was Duane Hogie. Clifton Pederson spoke on behalf of the family.
Pallbearers were Melvin Johnson, Michael Pederson, Orlan Sandro, Bennie Thoreson, Leonard Skovly and Harris Ueland. Interment was in the East Hendricks Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home, Hendricks, was in charge of arrangements.
Nels C. Pederson was born May 19, 1912, in Lincoln County in Hendricks Township, Lincoln County, MN. He spent the first 28 years on the farm in Hendricks. He married Myrtle Skovly on April 28, 1939.
In November, 1941, they moved to Minneapolis, where Nels was employed at Minneapolis Moline. Following World War II, Nels and Myrtle returned to the farm and stayed there until the winter of 1952. Nels and Myrtle made their final move to Minneapolis in 1952. Nels was employed by Minneapolis Moline, Dairy Supply and from 1962 until his retirement in 1977, he worked for Bell Telephone.
Nels was a quiet, gentle man who loved the Lord and was a servant through his work at Trinity Lutheran Church of Minnehaha Falls, being involved in the early stages of Camp Patmos, Inc., volunteering as a Watchman in Trinity, and a reliable member of Christian Homemakers. He was a wonderful friend to many and always there when they needed him.
Nels is survived by his wife, Myrtle of Minneapolis; two sons, Milan of Havre, Montana, and Clifton, Huntington Beach, California; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by one brother, Alvin Pederson, Hendricks, and three sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Beulah) Skovly of Astoria, and Mrs. Clara Morseth and Hilda Pederson of Hendricks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
