Hilda Pederson
(22 Sep 1923 - 21 Dec 2005)
Hilda Pederson
Hilda was born September 22, 1923 in Hendricks Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota, the daughter of Christian and Anna Thoreson Pederson. She was baptized as an infant and was confirmed in the Lutheran Free Church. She was home schooled, a concept about two generations before it’s time.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and the Sons of Norway, and enjoyed attending their meetings. She was also proud to be Norwegian and liked to use the Norwegian language when speaking with someone who could understand her. She enjoyed helping at the Senior Dinging Center while she was able to do so, and liked to play board games. She enjoyed playing her harmonica for people in the Nursing Home, and many of the residents enjoyed hearing her, too.
Hilda lived with her parents, and after their deaths, lived with her sister, Clara Morseth, and brother, Alvin. A couple years after Clara’s death, Hilda and Alvin moved to an apartment. Hilda entered the Hendricks Nursing Home in January of 2001, and went to live with the Lord on December 21, 2005, following complications of a stroke.
She is survived by three nephews: Milan Pederson of Schaumburg, IL, Clifton Pederson of Huntington Beach, CA, and Leonard Skovly of Estelline, SD; three nieces: Beverly Johnson of Astoria, SD, Louise Gadbois of Holyoke, MA, and Helen Squires of Hayti, SD and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Eddie in 1970, Nels in 1990, and Alvin in 2002; three sisters, Alice Morken in 1944, Beulah Skovly in 1990, and Clara Morseth in 1997.
Blessed be her memory.
