Last Rites held Nov. 2 for Mrs. Arnold Morken
Mrs. Arnold Morken was born at Hendricks, Minn., January 24, 1920, of the parents, Christ and Anna Pederson. She was baptized February 26, 1920, by Rev. O. L. Christensen and was confirmed July 28, 1935. by Rev. M. A. Ericksen.
She was united in marriage to Arnold Morken on August 10, of this year by Rev. M. A. Ericksen. As her husband is serving in the armed forces of our country, she had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. John Morken.
She met her untimely death on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 28, 1944, at the age of 24 years, 9 months, and 4 days.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband; parents, Mr and Mrs. Christ Pederson; three sisters, Beulah (Mrs. Alfred Skovly) of Astoria, SD., Clara and Hilda at home; three brothers, Nels of Minneapolis, Pvt. Alvin, Fort Bragg, NC. and Pfc Eddie, England.
Alice was a kind young lady, well liked and respected by all. May the Lord comfort her husband, parents, sisters and brothers, and us all.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Nov. 2, at the home at one o'clock and at the Lutheran Free church at 1:30. Rev. M. A. Ericksen officiated.
Pallbearers were Adolph Trooien, Eddie Ronning, Alfred Skovly, Kenneth Pederson, Bennie Thoreson and Sander Thoreson. Interment was made in the East cemetery.
