Benjamin Pippin

There were eight children born to Benjamin & Charity. There were four born in North Carolina, two daughters and a son born before 1780 and another son born about 1790. Four children, John, Benjamin, Micajah & Charity, have been identified.

Benjamin was found in North Carolina by 1768 when he witnessed the will of John Williams in Halifax Co NC. He signed with his "mark", a capital "B". Benjamin and his brother solomon were appointed to lay off a road in Edgecombe Co, Feb 1771. Benjamin was on the tax rolls of Martin Co in 1777 and 1779.

By the time of the 1790 Census, Benjamin and family was in Cheraws District, SC. Cheraws was divided into Darlington, Marlboro & Chesterfield in 1798 and the 1800 Census shows Benjamin in Darlington.

7 Dec 1795, Benjamin received a land grant of 500 acres from SC - the tract was in the George Town District, bounded on the west by the Little Pee Dee River and on the east by lands of James Harrell.

Benjamin died before 1810. No will or estate settlement has been found.
