Charity Pippin

One of the sons of Charity, Levi Moody, lived until 1882 and on the 1880 census in San Jacinto Co, TX, he stated that his mother was born in NC.

Charity married Asa Moody, 25 Sep 1792 in Cheraws District, SC, as recorded in the diaries of Rev. Evan Pugh. They had six children, all born in Darlington Co which had been formed out of Cheraws District. The first child, a female, is not known by name. The others were Susannah, Michael, Levi, Elizabeth & Asa, Jr.

Asa moved the family to Conecuh Co AL in 1816 in a wagon train. By 1820, they were in Rose Hill of Covington Co where Asa can be found through the 1850 census. Charity apparently died prior to the 1840 census. Asa made his home with son-in-law Richard Smith, both in 1840 and 1850 when he was age 80.
