p.533 16 Jan 1802 Peyton Thomas & John Standfield of Caswell Co NC. To Holloway Pass of Halifax Co VA. Thomas is indebted to said Holloway Pass for 238£ payable 16 Jan 1803. Sells to John Standfield tract on Dan River, one half of tract whereon Joice Thomas now lives which was once the property of William Thomas Senr, Deceast then the property of George Thomas Deceast & Willed to Asa Thomas, Peyton Thomas & John Thomas which is to be divided agreeable to the Will of sd George Thomas Deceast and it is unknown what part shall fall to said Peyton, to John Standfield.

p.408 9 Sep 1807 John Lewis to Joice Thomas. For 1sh to Joice Thomas her heirs and assigns forever, two small tracts of land in Pittsylvania Co on the north side of the Dan River in the Plantation on which the said Joice Thomas lives, the family graveyard in which William Thomas & some of his sons were buried, 1/4 of an acre or forty square poles. Begin at a stake a convenient distance from the graves thence North 8 poles to a stake, thence East five poles to stake, thence north 8 poles, thence west 5 poles to the beginning. The other is said Joice Thomas's Garden containing by estimate 145 square feet enclosing grave of the infant son Ichabod Thomas. Signed: John Lewis

DB L, p.290 19 Aug 1800 Jacob Thomas of Caswell to loving friends Jeffreys and Richards, for love and good will, all goods, chattels, lands, & tenements; all legatee due from father William Thomas and of mother Joice Thomas. Inv of goods of Jacob Thomas included lots #9 & #14 in Milton, household articles.

Caswell DB S, p.294 24 Mar 1818 Joyce Thomas to Icabod Thomas, both of Pittsylvania Co, VA, for $1 and love & affection, all right & title to lots in Milton and a tract adj Milton which her son Asa Thomas owned at his death. Wit: Thomas Gossett, Ludwell Bookmsn.

1820 Census. Peyton Thomas is listed although he may already be living in Missouri. There is a female over age 45 listed by his name, which follows that of Phil Thomas and Phil Thomas as Adm. for Asa Thomas. I think this may very well be Joyce.

Departed this life in the 99th year of her age. Another place in the Bible - age 99 years, 8 months, 20 days.
Another note in the Bible states that she wrote these in the year 1802, Sept 20th.

L. Starling Thomas stated that she died about 1818 and that she lived with her son Philip in her later years. Certainly she lived several years longer.
