Carl Hawkinson came home from Montana last week. Roy Johnson, who was working for him, accompanied him as far as North Dakota, where he intends to work in the harvest.

Carl was born in Harris, Minnesota and came to Montana in 1920. He
married Lucille Kinney in 1924. They lived on Snow Creek for a year before
moving to Butte Creek and then to Jordan in 1936 where he ran the Miles City
mail route until 1946 when they moved to Rosebud, MT. At Rosebud he raised
sugar beets and beef cattle. In 1967 they moved to Billings where they were
residing at the time of his death.
Funeral services were from St. John's Lutheran Church in Jordan with
the Rev. James Thacker officiating. Carl was always known for his good nature
and his love of a good story.

TRACTION ENGINEER'S LICENSE

This is to certify, that Carl E. Hawkinson, has been duly examined as to his
qualification as a Traction Engineer and is found to be a suitable and safe
person to be entrusted with the powers and duties of a TRACTION ENGINEER for
the State and he is herby licensed to act as such for the term of one year from
this date unless this license shall be sooner revoked or suspended.

Dated this twelfth day of July 1922.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hawkinson of Cartersville, Mont. were recent visitors at the
home of their daughter, Mrs. J.E. Stanton, also at the home of Mrs. Hawkinson's
sister, Mrs. J. Hilton.

OBITUARY

Carl Emil Hawkinson, 77, of Billings, died Friday night at St. Vincent's
Hospital in Billings.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Jordan with
the Rev. James Thacker officiating. Burial will be in the Butte Creek Cemetery
in Garfield County.

Mr. Hawkinson was born April 2, 1896, in Harris, Minnesota, a son of Christina
and Charley Hawkinson. He came to Montana in 1920.

He was married to Lucille Kinney, November 5, 1924, and they lived on Snow
Creek, in Garfield county, for a year. They then moved to Butte Creek and
later to Jordan in 1936 where he ran the Miles City mail route until 1946, whenthey moved to Rosebud. They moved to Billings in 1967, where he was residing
at the time of his death.
