Marriage
Mr. Floyd F. Furr and Miss Margaret Dove Fix, two popular residents of East Lexington neighborhood, were married in Staunton last Wednesday by Rev. O. F. Gregory. They boarded the Baltimore and Ohio train at East Lexington Wednesday and after the marriage went to the home of the groom's father,near Verona in Augusta county, where they will make their home. The bride is quite attractive and the daughter of Mr. J. J. Fix of East Lexington. Mr. Furr, formerly connected with Furr Brothers of the Rockbridge Roller Mills, retired from that business the first of the year and is now engaged in farming in Augusta county.
Death
Waynesboro, Jan. 21 -- Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. today for Floyd Franklin Furr, 68, at Etter Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Pierce S. Ellis, pastor of Waynesboro Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. D. F. Glovier of Staunton. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery. Mr. Furr died at his home, 411 Thirteenth Street, Waynesboro, at 6:10 a. m. Sunday. A resident of this vicinity all his life, he was born in Verona May 13, 1878, the son of the late Edward and Maggie Wine Furr. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Fix Furr, two sons, James E., of Waynesboro, and Richard C., in the U. S. Navy and stationed in Cuba; one daughter, Mrs. J. W. Glenn, of 411 Thirteenth Street; two brothers, Ernest E,, of Charles Town, W. Va., and Charles C., of Broadrun; three sisters, Mrs. W. N. Key, of Buena Vista; Mrs. D. L. Myers, Staunton, and Mrs. W. N. Bailey, of Ft. Defiance; and by three grandchildren, Donald Glenn, James F., and Sara Frances Furr, all of Waynesboro. Active pallbearers were Earl and Benjamin Nicewander, John D. Furr, Kenneth and Paul Cleveland, and William Bailey; honorary, Carl Nicewander, William Somers, Dr. J. F. Hubbard, Dr. Paul A. Woods, Hugh Copper, Carl Kiblinger, Clemmer Coyner, B. L.
