Death
Mrs. Laura Leona (Furr) Myers, 79, of 734 Donaghe St. died Saturday morning (Sept, 23, 1967) in King’s Daughters’ Hospital. Mrs. Myers was born in Augusta County on Sept. 20, 1888, a daughter of Edward and Sarah Wine Furr. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Staunton. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Furr of Waynesboro, and a number of nieces and nephews. Her husband, Dwight L. Myers, died on Dec. 21, 1961. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock Monday morning at the I. T. Jacobs Memorial Chapel in the First Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. R. Carrington Paulette and the Rev. Charles Boyer Jr., pastor of the Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Thorn rose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Roscoe T. Jamison, Clyde E. Meyerhoeffer, E. E. Clements, C. W. Lawson, Emmett T. Hawpe, Paul S. Jones, Edgar R. Berry, and Harvey T. Black; honorary : G. C. Harris, S, Davis, Guy C. Keister, J. R Lawson, John F. Brown, R. C. Ambler, and G. W. Crosby. The body is at the Hamrick Funeral Home and will be placed in the chapel an hour prior to services.
