Death
WALTERBORO — Mrs. Edith Furr Bailey, widow of Madison Howell Bailey, died Thursday at Life Care Center of Charleston. She was 83. Mrs. Bailey was born April 30, 1924, in Indian Trail, NC, a daughter of the late Fulton Lanier Furr and Maranda Yandle Furr. She was a homemaker, and a member of Canadys Baptist Church. Mrs. Bailey was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, and cherished the fellowship that arose from the wonderful meals she prepared for her family and friends. She is survived by a son, Steve Bailey and wife, Heidi, of Canadys, two daughters, Rhonda B. Antonetti, and husband, Bill, of Charleston and Delores B. Garris, and husband Danny, of Williams.There are two brothers, Max Furr of Rockingham, NC and Don Furr of Indian Trail, NC, as well as a sister, Mildred F. Rushing, of Wingate, NC. Mrs Bailey has four grandchildren, Daniel Garris, Nicole Holtz, Stephanie Waltz and Ansley Bailey, and three great-grandchildren, Patrick Lozada, Emma Waltz and Cooper Bailey. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Joe Marchant. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.The State, Columbia, South Carolina, May 12, 2007
