Death
CANADYS - Madison Howell Bailey, 79, a retired contractor and farmer, died Tuesday at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Canadys First Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Joe Marchant and Rev. Joe Parker. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by the Fred Parker Funeral Home. Mr. Bailey was born April 2, 1922 in Canadys, a son of the late Samuel Bailey and Beulah Langdale Bailey. He was a member and Deacon of Canadys First Baptist Church. He was a former board member of Palmetto Rural Telephone Co-Op and an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Edith Furr Bailey; a son, Stephen F. Bailey of Canadys; two daughters, Rhonda B. Antonetti of Charleston and Delores B. Garris of Williams; six brothers, Reginald Bailey of Bamberg, David Bailey, Parker Bailey and Laurie Bailey all of Canadys, Roland Bailey of Columbia and Jerry Bailey of Walterboro; two sisters, Rachel Coe of Canadys and Beulah Gatch of Columbia; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.The State, Columbia, South Carolina, October 11, 2001
