Death
Albert Arthur Furr, 73, retired farmer of Stanfield, died Friday afternoon of a heart attack at his home. He was born October 25, 1886, son of the late S. H. and Maylea Crayton Furr of Stanly County. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 4 p. m. at Love's Grove Methodist Church of which he was a member. Officiating were Rev. J. L. Love, Rev. Edgar Pepper, and Rev. Hasty Furr. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Furr is survived by his widow, the former Miss Ida Bell Brooks; five sons, Roy and Coy of Stanfield, Johnny of Kannapolis, Bobby and Albert, Jr., of Concord; one stepson, Seb Tarleton of Stanfield; five daughters, Mrs. Bessie Smith of Oakboro, Mrs. Elosie Jenkins of Locust, Mrs. Rosie Owens, Mrs. Emma Gulledge, and Mrs. Orie Owens, all of Kannapolis; two step-daughters, Mrs. H. J. Skidmore of Kannapolis and Mrs. Pat Quarante of California; 33 grandchildren; two brothers, Lester and Baxter Furr of Stanfield; and three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Taylor of Locust, Mrs. George Yow of Stanfield, and Mrs. John Lee Furr of Midland.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, April 26, 1960
