Death
Funeral services for Simon Hoke Furr, 87, were conducted by Rev. D. A. Hamilton from Love's Grove Methodist church at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Furr, who was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Furr of Cabarrus county, died at the home of his son, Albert Furr, Stanfield route 2, last Friday afternoon. He had been in failing health for some time. He was a retired farmer of the Stanfield section and was a member of Love’s Grove Methodist church. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Martha Yow and Mrs. Minnie Taylor of Stanfield, route 2; and Mrs. Frances Furr of Midland; five sons, John Allen, Baxter, Lester and Albert Furr of the Stanfield community, and George Furr of Kannapolis; forty-five grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, June 19, 1945
