Death
Funeral rites for Mrs. Maggie Furr, 83, wife of S. H. Furr of Stanfield route 2, were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Love's Grove Methodist church, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Brooks Jerome was the officiating minister. Mrs. Furr, one of the county's most beloved women, died at her home at 6 o’clock Friday afternoon after an illness of one week. Surviving in addition to her husband are five sons, J. A., A. B., A. A., and H. L. of Stanfield, and G. F., of Kannapolis; three daughters, Mrs. George Yow, Mrs. John Lee Furr and Mrs. John Taylor, of Stanfield; two brothers, Henry Crayton of Stanfield, route 2, and Matthew Crayton of Mt. Pleasant; 85 grand-children, 93 great-grand-children, and five great-great-grandchildren.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, February 16, 1943
