Death

CONCORD Albert Junior Furr, 77, of Concord, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord this evening, Friday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by the Revs. Ron Rider and Michael Covington, will be in the Hartsell Funeral Home chapel Saturday, April 14, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. Albert was born March 24, 1935, to the late Albert Authur Furr and the late Mary Idabelle Brooks Furr. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Raymer Furr; two sons, Tim Furr and his wife, Terry of Midland and Tommy Furr of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Mary Jo Blackwelder and her husband, Howard of Concord; three sisters, Bessie Smith of Oakboro, Emma Gulledge of Kannapolis and Eloise Dawson of Concord; seven grandchildren, Phillip and Michael Blackwelder, Hunter, Heath and A.J. Furr, Alaina Furr Townley and Chad Broadway; eight great-grandchildren, Aaron, Austin, Ayanna, Alissa and Derrick Blackwelder, Aiden Townley, and Atlas and Vaden Broadway.
