Death
Mrs. Mary Idabelle Furr, 74, of 29 Main Street, Concord, died Wednesday in Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Love’s Grove United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by Rev. James Hatley. Born in Stanly County on December 19, 1896, she was the daughter of the late David and Jane Huneycutt Brooks. Her husband, Albert A. Furr, preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Albert J. Furr of Concord and Bobby Furr of Kannapolis; five daughters, Mrs. Rachel Skidmore and Mrs. Eloise Dawson, both of Kannapolis, Mrs. Emma Gulledge of Landis, Mrs. Bessie Smith of Albemarle, and Mrs. Pat Quarante of California; three sisters, Mrs. Harry: Walters, and. Mrs. Ora Hartsell, both-of Locust and Mrs. Froney Furr of Concord; three stepsons, Johnny Furr of Landis, Coy Furr of Kannapolis and Roy Furr of Stanfield; and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Rosie Bumgarner and Mrs. Onnie Benton, both of Kannapolis; 41 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The body was taken from Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Gulledge, in Landis, at 2 p.m. Thursday, where it will remain until taken to the church to lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the hour of service.
