Death
KANNAPOLIS — Johnnie Brown Furr, 68, 804 Verona St., died Thursday (Sept. 18, 1997) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord. Born Oct. 13, 1928, in Stanly County, Mr. Furr was a son of the late Albert and Carrie Jenkins Furr. Retired from Royal Garbage Services, he was a member of Concord Lake Missionary Baptist Church. His wife, Clara Graham Furr, preceded him in death. Survivors include daughter Sarah Benton, Kannapolis; brothers Roy Furr, Stanfield, and Bobby Furr and Albert Furr Jr., both of Concord; sisters Omie Mullins, Bessie Smith and Emma Gulledge, all of Kannapolis, Eloise Dawson, Concord, and Pat Quarante, California; and one grandchild. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Tim Overcash. Burial, Sunset Cemetery.
