Death
Cyril Worth “Buck” Furr, 55, of 1229 Eastchester Dr. was dead on arrival last night at High Point Hospital following a heart attack suffered earlier at his residence. He was born in Albemarle, Jan. 26, 1909, a son of John M. and Cora Lowder Furr. He was married in 1929 to Inez Taylor, who survives of the home. He was employed for many years by Melrose Hosiery Mill, and he later owned and operated the F. & M. Cafe. He was a member of Conrad Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Wayne M. Furr of Houston, Tex., Rev. Max T. Furr of Draper, Jimmy W. Furr, a student at Appalachian State Teachers College at Boone, and George Furr of the home; five brothers, W. E., Glynn and Clarence Furr, all of High Point, Horace Furr of Atlanta, Ga., and Earl Furr of Guilford; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Thompson and Miss Ramelle Furr, both of Guilford, Mrs. Minnie White of Glenora and Mrs. Marie Dickens of Charlotte; and four grandchildren. Funeral will be held in Harold C. Davis Chapel Saturday at 11 a.m. by Rev. Russell Hinton, pastor of Conrad Memorial Baptist Church, and Dr. George Tunstall, retired Baptist minister. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home, and the family will be at 1229 Eastchester Dr.The High Point Enterprise, High Point, North Carolina, July 30, 1964
