Death
HIGH POINT — John Clarence Furr, 85, of the Wesleyan Arms died Wednesday at High Point Memorial Hospital. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sechrest Funeral Chapel with Dr. William G. Guthrie and Dr. J. A. Grout officiating. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park. A native of Stanly County, he was retired employee of Adams-Millis Corp. and a member of High Point Friends Meeting and the Brotherhood of the Meeting. Surviving are son, John Richard Furr of High Point; sisters, Mrs. R.L. White of Rt. 3, High Point, Miss Ramelle Furr of Greensboro, Mrs. L.A. Dickens of High Point; brothers, Horace Furr of College Park, Ga., Earl Furr of Greensboro, Elwood Furr of High Point; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. today. Memorial gifts may be made to the High Point Friends Meeting or the Wesleyan Arms.The Greensboro Record, Greensboro, North Carolina, March 6, 1980
