Death
Burlington, Oct. 17.—Mrs. Gertie Furr Farlow, 49, died here this morning at 4:40 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Daniel E. Todd, 610 Cameron Street, after two and a half months of critical illness. She was a native of Albemarle. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Rich and Thompson Chapel by the Rev. A. P. Stephens, pastor of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. The body will remain at the Rich and Thompson mortuary until time for the rites. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Todd and, Mrs. Robah E. Cole Jr., both of Burlington; one son, Cpl. Waldo H. Farlow of the Army; four sisters, Mrs. G. L. Thompson, Mrs. L. A. Dickens, and Mrs. R. L. White of High Point, and Lt. Ramelle E. Furr of the Army Nurses’ Corps overseas; six brothers, J. Clarence Furr, Glenn R. Furr, Earl H. Furr, and Cyrol W. Furr, all of High Point, and GM 1-C William Elwood Furr of the Navy and Horace M. Furr of Atlanta, Ga. Also surviving is her father, John M. Furr of Guilford College, Route 2.The Herald-Sun, Durham, North Carolina, October 18, 1945
