Death
BURLINGTON - Wyma Farlow Cole, 93, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Twin Lakes Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Robah Ernest Cole and was born August 22, 1918 in Chase City, Va. to the late William Hal and Gertie Furr Farlow. Wyma retired as a nurse from Alamance Memorial Hospital after many years of service. Later she volunteered as a Pink Lady at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, the Friendly Sunday School Class and LIFT. She enjoyed working with her hands including sewing, making quilts and working in her flowers. Wyma was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons, Mike Cole and his wife Donna, John Cole and his wife Becky, all of Burlington; grandchildren, Susan Cheek and her husband Doug, Alan Cole and J.T. Cole; great-grandchildren, Maggie Cheek, Matthew Cheek and Chase Cole. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister Norma Lee Todd and a brother Waldo Hal Farlow. The funeral will be held 4 p.m. Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Dale Bailey. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. Friday at the church prior to the service and at other times at the home of Mike Cole, 2423 Cambridge Road. Burlington. The family of Wyma Cole would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Burlington Manor, Third Floor of Twin Lakes Nursing Center and Hospice for their love, care and support of their mother.
