Info from parish records of St. Joseph's Parish in Fort Edward, by correspondence. His name was butchered even more badly than usual ("Deeny Arabon"), but the year and place correspond with other sources I have seen. Whether the priest originally mispelled his name so badly or whether the present pastor misread the handwriting, I don't know; I have not seen the original record.According to the information transcribed for me by the pastor of St. Joseph's Church from the marriage record, Frederick and Philomene were married by Rev. J. P. MaGee, and the witnesses were Mor'se Arabon (his uncle, Mose Raboin?) and Mary Ponchit. He could find no record of children.
Census (family)
Enumerated with this family were Frederick Raboine, a saw mill hand, age 25; his wife, Phenie, age 21; and son, Frederick, age 1 year and four months. They lived in a frame house, valued at $300. Frederick was reported to be an alien. He owned his land, and neither he nor Philomene could read or write.https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-267-11668-101392-76?cc=1918735&wc=M9SL-4WY:n1686421792
Census (family)
Head of house listed as Fredick Rebwin, and wife's given name is illegible, but the ages of the family members and the names of the children fit. Also, they live right next to the families of Peter and Minnie Lacomb, Claude and Sophie LaComb, Frank and Odile (LaComb) Hart, and Moses and Virginia Lacomb -- all relatives of Philomene.http://interactive.ancestry.com/6742/4243577-00291?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d1091%26path%3d&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnBrowsing

Census
Living with Selina, age 17, and Steve, age 12. Occupation: farmer. Lived next door to his son, Louis.Census
In 1920, Frederick was living with the family of his son, Joseph, in Cherry Valley Precinct, King Co., Washington, according to that year's Federal Census (Sup. Dist. 1, Enum. Dist. 24, sheet no. 4A, dated 16 Jan 1920). This census also lists him as living with Joseph and Delia Carriveau in Seattle on 3 Jan 1920 in Seattle (Roll T625_1926, p. 3A, Enum. Dist. 114, image 676)!This census also illustrates the pitfalls of accepting information without question from a census -- especially immigration information, which is recalled many years later. Here we have two censuses taken in the same year of the same person -- but with very different information. The Cherry Valley one states that he immigrated in 1858 and was naturalized in 1865. This is almost certainly untrue -- much too early. He would have been 9 or 10 years old in 1858, and 16 or 17 in 1865. In any case, he is shown with his parents' family in Saint-Barnabé, Québec in 1861. The immigration year given on the Seattle census is 1880, and we know this to be at least ten years too late, as he married Philomene in Fort Edward, NY, in 1870, and they had children there throughout the 1870's. Even if the 1880 date were accurate, the naturalization date of 1881 would have to be wrong, as the naturalization process takes considerably more than one year. This kind of information on a census can be helpful in pointing us in the right direction, but should never be taken at face value.
