Marie Josephine RABOUIN

(3 Feb 1859 - 8 Jun 1889)

Josephine died a very tragic death -- she apparently drowned with her two youngest sons, ages two and four years old. Her body was not found for several days, and the boys even longer. The burial records tell the story. (Hers was mistakenly recorded under the name of her sister, Philomène Rabouin, but there is no doubt that it was Josephine -- all other facts match.) I have not been able to find newspaper accounts to expand on the story, but I will continue to look.

Death

Burial record mistakenly gives her name as Philomene Rabouin. The record states that she drowned on the eighth of June. Josephine apparently drowned with her two youngest sons; their burial records follow hers. Her body was probably not found for a few days, and the boys' later still.

Since these two little boys drowned with their mother, the story told in this record tell about her death as well. A very tragic story.
