Johnny E. Lovro

Johnny Lovro was born April 13, 1905, in Hendricks, Minnesota, the son of Elaf and Sophia (Moen) Lovro. He died Wednesday, October 30, 1985, in Sioux Valley Hospital at the age of 80 years.
Johnny spent his early years and received his education in rural Hendricks. On June 26, 1936, he married Mabel L. Thompson in Brookings, South Dakota. They farmed near Hendricks until moving to Brookings in 1941. Johnny was in maintenance and custodial work for the City of Brookings for 28 years and retired in 1970. In 1982 they moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mabel Lovro died on December 26, 1983, in Sioux Falls.
Johnny is survived by four sons, James M. Lovro of Sioux Falls, Elroy T. Lovro of Manhattan Beach, California, Marcus W. Lovro of Memphis, Tennessee, and Marvin S. Lovro of Sioux Falls; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild, and one brother, Gilbert Lovro of Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his wife, five brothers and one sister.
