Funeral director was Loyd-Brittell Chapel, Porterville. Son Cliff was the informant.
Obituary in the Porterville Evening Recorder on 09 Sep 1947 called him George W. Landers, 66, who died Friday night at a local rest home after a long illness. Said he was a native of MO and had made his home in Porterville for 38 years. For a number of years past he had operated a service station on Sunnyside Avenue. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Landers. Surviving are four sons, Clifton, Archie, Chester and Harold all of Porterville; 3 daughters, Mrs. Gladys Conour of Porterville, Mrs. Mildred Gifford of Fullerton and Mrs. Lillie Carter of Taft; 2 sisters, Mrs. Etta Murell of Porterville and Mrs. Flossie Pardue of Exeter and a brother Tom Landers of Porterville and 15 grandchildren.
