Obituary in Porterville Evening Recorder on either 30 or 31 Oct 1979, according to the Tulare County USGENWEB site says: "Clifton Cealis Landers, longtime resident and business man in Porterville, died Monday in a local hospital following a sudden illness. He was 71.
Landers was born in Missouri and had lived most of his life in Porterville. He was owner-operator of Clifton's Flowers for 16 years and from 1961 to 1968 operated Landers' Flowers. He was a member of the Assembly of God, Porterville.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of Porterville; two sons, Dick of Denver, Colo., and Don of Hawaii; two daughters, Virginia Jones of Ojai and Susan Rockholt of Tulare; one stepson, Jim Canerday of Vacaville; three brothers, Archie and Chester of Porterville and Harold of Fresno; one sister, Mildred Gifford of Fullerton; 13 grandchildren; two step grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday in the Myers Chapel. burial will be in Old Porterville Cemetery. The Reverend Doctors W. H. Deitzof the First Church of the Nazarene and Gary J. Bryant of the First Assembly of God will officiate." Copy of obituary in possession of the author.
