While driving home from St Cloud to his farm in the town of St Joseph, accompanied by his daughter, Ida, aged 20 years, they were in the act of passing over the St Germain crossing of the Osseo track when their sleigh was struck by the incoming Great Northern Winnipeg Flyer, hurled in the air and then thrown some distance. Mr Yeager sied in a few minutes and his daughter passed away about 30 hours later.
Adam Yaeger was born in the town of St Augusta, Stearns County. 49 years ago. He was a son of Adam Yaeger, one of the pioneers of that town. His early life was spent on the farm.
Some twenty years ago he removed to St Cloud and resided here a couple of years engaged in the pump business. About fifteen years ago he bought a tract of land in the town of St Joseph, and became a prosperous farmer. They had nine children, among them twins and triplets. The later will be remembered as having been brought to one or two Association meetings. One of the triplets died.
