Changed name from Yager to Jaeger because he worked in a German community and this was how everyone else spelled the name.. Veterinarian. Lived Elk River, Willow River, Hackensack, and West Concord,MN.

Dr. John A. Yager
Dr John A. Yager died at his home in West Concord Wednesday. He had been ill a short time. He was born in this city March 4, 1884, the oldest of Adam and Katherine Yager. He grew to manhood on their farm. He graduated from McKillip veterinary college, Chicago,1916.
He served on the livestock board in 1926. He was a member of St. Mathews Episcopal church, the Masonic lodge and the Minnesota State Veterinary Medical society. At the last meeting of the society he was honored with a life membership in recognition of more than 40 years in that society. After retirement he continued with his smallanimal practice.
Surviving are his wife and two daughters: Mrs. Joseph Grove (Edna), Glenwood and Mrs. Florence Finnicum, Miami Springs, Fla.
Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Dr. J.F. Yager, Sauk Centre; William C., Holyoke, MAss.; Robert, Aitkin; Dr. A.H., Augusta, GA.; Mrs. Louis Holmes (Ellen), and Mrs. Ben Condon (Ethel), St Cloud. There are five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday at West Concord at St Mathews church. Masonic rites were given at the graveside at Concord cemetery.

John Adam Jaeger (1884-1956)
John Adam Jaeger, son of Adam and Catherine Yager was born March 4, 1884 at St Cloud, Minnesota. He grew up on the farm and left home to work in logging camps where he ran a Dinky Train.
He went out west and worked on a ranch in North Dakota and took a homestead. He married Herta Eilertsen May 14, 1909. Edna was born in 1912. In 1913 he enrolled at McKillip Veterinary College in Chicago. He was graduated in 1916 and started to practice in Elk River, Minnesota. Florence Irene was born on August 29, 1917.
In 1922 the family moved on a farm near Willow River, Minnesota. He farmed and continued his practice.
In 1926 they moved to West Concord, Minnesota and he joined Dr. Fritz Pieper in practice. John and Herta were divorced in 1934.
In 1935 he married Josephine Bringgold. They resided in West Concord until he retired. They moved to Hackensack for several years, then back to West Concord. He passed away in 1956 and is buried at Old Concord near West Concord.

Betty Condon: John was kicked in his leg by a cow and the leg crushed. Later on he was kicked in the same leg resulting in surgery to remove crushed bones. This shortened his leg by inches so he had to wear a leg brace and he limped.
