Death
ALBEMARLE — Millard Hubert Furr, 96, 25888-A Millingport Road, died Thursday (Oct. 17, 1996) at his home. Born Dec. 28, 1899, in Stanly County, Mr. Furr was a son of the late Adam Lovely and Martha Delana Furr Furr. A farmer, he was a member of Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church. A son, Dave Lincoln Furr, preceded him in death. Survivors include wife Tina Louise Lambert Furr; sons Vernon and Coy Furr, Albemarle, and Roy Furr, Locust; daughters Ola Mae Harkey, Concord, Betty Jean Furr, Pacolet, S.C., Lillian Dellinger, Falston, Christine Drye, Locust, and Ruby F. Furr, Annie Belle Almond, Irene Caldwell and Brenda Walker, all of Albemarle; brother Grover Furr, Albemarle; sisters Flora Belle Burris, New London, Clora Almond, Concord, Tina Ellen Tucker, Oakboro, and Elmira Burris, Albemarle; half sister Martha Coppaway, Concord; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services: 4 p.m. Saturday, Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church, conducted by Elder Richard Almond and Elder Roy Speers. The body will be placed in the church at 3:30. Burial, church cemetery.
