Death
ALBEMARLE — Mrs. Burris, 87, of 26065 Millingport Road, died Thursday, February 12, 2004 at Britthaven of Piedmont. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 14th at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Elder Rommie Williams officiating, The body will lie in state beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Born February 4, 1917 in Stanly County, NC, she was daughter of the late Martha Delanie Furr Furr and the late Adam Lovely Furr. A retired homemaker, she was the widow of the late John Ellis Burris. Survivors are her son, Ronald Conrad Burris, and her daughter, Ms. Joyce Carol Burris, both of Albemarle, NC; sister, Ms, Martha Furr Starnes Coppaway of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Angela Burris Blalock and Jennifer Burris Smith; and great grandchildren, Chastity Blalock, Casey Blalock, Daniel Smith and Jacob Smith. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Joyce Burris, 26065 Millingport Road, Albemarle, Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Burris Family.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, February 14, 2004
