Death
Sunday, May 14, 2006 — Annie Belle Furr Almond, 78, of 16585 Hwy. 73, Albemarle, died at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2006, in the Lutheran Home in Albemarle. Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday with 30-minute state in Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church, where she was a member. Elder Rommie Williams and Elder David Anderson officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Born March 30, 1928, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Millard and Tina Louise Lambert Furr and was a homemaker. Two brothers, Vernon Furr and Dave Furr, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Walter Columbus Almond of the home; two sons, Steve Almond and Dwight Almond, both of Albemarle; a daughter, Karen Almond McLendon of Albemarle; two brothers, Roy Furr of Locust and Coy Furr of Albemarle; seven sisters, Ruby Furr of Albemarle, Ola Mae Harkey of Concord, Irene Caldwell of Albemarle, Betty Jean Furr of Paquet, S.C., Lillian Dillinger of Fallston, Christine Drye of Locust and Brenda Walker of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home was in charge.Endnotes
