Death

Dwight Lee Almond, 62, of Albemarle, NC, passed away Friday April 27, 2018 in his home. His funeral service will be 2 PM Friday May 4, 2018 in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle with Rev. Jim Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends onThursday from 6 PM until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care.
Dwight was born August 23, 1955 in Stanly County, NC and was the son of the late Walter Columbus Almond and Annie Belle Furr Almond. He was employed with Superior Mechanical Services of Charlotte. He truly loved his family, loved to go deep sea fishing, loved Nascar Racing and loved Tarheel Basketball. Mr. Almond is survived by his wife Kelly Cochran Almond of the home. Other survivors include a son Christopher D. Almond (Lindsey) of Fayetteville, NC; two daughters Jamie Nicole Stirewalt (Eric) and Jessica Erin Black both of Concord, NC;a brother Steve Allen Almond (Irma) of Albemarle, NC; sister Karen Almond McLendon (Sidney) of Albemarle, NC; six grandchildren Brennan Almond, Max Almond, Jaden Havens, Gage Simpson, Madison Stirewalt and Shelby June Stirewalt and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Roberta United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3925 Cochran Road, Concord, NC 28027. Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Almond Family.
