ALBEMARLE — Barney Furr, 74, 1117 Austin Street, died Saturday (July 21, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord. Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hartsell Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Johnnie Morton. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Hartsell Funeral Home. Other times, the family will be at the home on Austin Street.July 25, 2001 The Weekly Post, Locust, NC
Barney Furr, 74, died July 21, 2001 at NorthEast Medical Center. A funeral was held July 24 at Harstell Funeral Home's Lefler memorial Chapel with Rev. Johnnie Morton officiating. Burial was in Fairview Memorial Park. Mr. Furr was born May 10, 1927 in Oakboro, the son of Ida smith furr and James Adam Furr. He was a retired coder operator for Collins & Aikman. He also worked for Dewey Treese installing floor covering. Survivors include his wife, Margie Louise Brown Furr of the home; a stepson, Fred Swink of Albemarle; a stepdaughter, Rachel McLain of Concord; and a brother, Jessie Edward Furr of Albemarle. He is also survived by 10 step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
