Death
NEW LONDON — Hubert Lee Furr, 61, of Rt 2, New London, died Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Stanly County Hospital. He was born Jan. 25, 1919, in Stanly County, the son of Mrs. Ida Smith Furr of Albemarle and the late Adam Furr. He was employed at Wiscassett Hosiery Mill and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Furr was a member of Prospect Baptist Church. Also surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hattie Morris Furr, two sons, Ricky and Gregory Furr, both of the home, a daughter, Patsy Ann Furr of the home, four brothers, Theodore, Jesse, Gilford, and Barney Furr, all of Albemarle, and a sister, Mrs. Postle Sides of Albemarle. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church by the Rev. Bill Morrow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The body will remain at the Stanly Funeral Home until placed in the church one hour before the services. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.Military
