Death
ALBEMARLE — Mrs. Ida Jane Smith Furr, 79, of 110 Palestine Rd., died Monday evening at 6:35 in Stanly County Hospital after an illness of two weeks. She was born March 21, 1892 in Stanly County to the late Frank and Ella McSwain Smith. She was a member of Smith Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. C. R. Hinton. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park. Survivors include four sons, Theodore F. Furr; Jesse Edworth Furr, Gilford L. Furr, all of Albemarle and Barney F. Furr of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Postle Sides of Albemarle; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Will Smith of Monroe. The body will be taken from Stanly Funeral Home to the residence today at 2 p.m. to remain until taken to the church for the services.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, November 23, 1971
