Death
J. A. Furr, 72, farmer of the Midland section, died Tuesday at his home. Funeral services were held at Midland Wednesday afternoon, and burial followed there. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife, the former Sophronia Howell, and seven children as follows: Clyde W. Furr of Concord, Mrs. Faye Melton of Concord, Mrs. Norman Luther of Norwood, Alfred Rupert, James W. and Miss Pauline Furr, all at the home. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Julia Coggins of Albemarle, and Mrs. Laura Brooks of Borden, Texas, and seven grandchildren.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, May 22, 1942
