Death

Mrs. Martha Furr Green, wife of Alex Green, died at her home in East Albemarle Tuesday night at 9:30 o'clock after an illness of several months. The immediate cause of her death was paralysis and a heart attack. Funeral rites were conducted, Thursday afternoon at First Presbyterian church with the pastor, Rev. C. D. Whiteley, officiating. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery. Mrs. Green was 73 years of age and had been married 54 years. She was beloved by her many friends and acquaintances. Though she had been confined to her home for the past several months, her faith in the Lord was unfailing. She is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. T. J. Coggin, of Albemarle, and Mrs. Ransom Little, of Concord, and one brother, John Furr, of Stanfield. J. A. Little, M. H. Morton, J. D. Love, R. N. Furr, W. H. Snuggs and A. P. Harris served as pallbearers and Mrs. Daisy Broadwell, Misses Mamie and Etruelia Broadwell, Mrs. Frank Lefler, Mrs. C. A. Morris, Mrs. Frank Griffith, and Misses Grace and Hartsell Lee Little served as flower girls. Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, February 5, 1932
